24" / 6 - 9 years / 125 - 145 cm
26" youngster / 8-13 years / from 135 cm
Children's hight and age are approximate only. Skills of your children should be taken into consideration in order to be confident with safe riding (mainly for the smalest bike's sizes 12" and 16").
16“ bikes – MINI 16
The 16" bicycles are designed for childrens approx. four to six years old. They are equiped the same way as 12" bikes, but the size and geometry of the frame differs. Be aware of childrens' safety on the bicycle. With passive elements are equiped our bikes (for example chain cover, bicycle bell). Please take care of active elements too - as of helmet, which is in many countries obligatory, and gloves. While wearing the gloves the kids is not afraid to use the hand for her / his protection in case of fall down.
ADVICE / Let the bicycle to be checked and set up at least once a year in specialized service center.
20" bikes – TOMCAT 20 a TEAM 20
20" are intended for kids approximately 5 - 7 years old. At the same time the hight of kid is very important - 115 - 135 cm. Multi-speed gear might be significant change for children. Shifting the gear by gripshift on the right side of handlebar. Rear V-brake with brake lever on handlebar. Pay attention to choose lightweight and quality bike - drop by authorized AMULET dealer.
ADVICE / Take your time to explain the difference of usage of front and rear brake. You can use teddy bear as 'test rider' to demonstrate what happens while braking with front brake. Kid should understand that braking with the front brake only may cause a fall over the handlebar and the rear brake should be used mainly.
24“ bikes – almost grown-up – TOMCAT 24 a TEAM 24
More less like 'adult' bicycles. Sloping top tube. Bike equiped often with suspension fork and brake levers instead of grip shift. Be aware of proper size of the bicycle for your child. Easy trick to recognize it: hold the bike while the child is seating on it, he/ she should not be stretched while holding the handlebar with both hands, the elbows slightly bended. Riding test: the bike is too big if the child is not able to hold the handlebar all the time while riding and turning (e.g. by left turn will release right hand)
ADVICE / Take your time to explain the multi-speed gearing function and usage. It will ease riding and increase components lifetime at the same time.
